AOL is streaming the first episode of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and after watching it last night, I'm in love. I was a huge "West Wing" fan back in the day when Aaron Sorkin and Tommy Schlamme were in charge and this new show reminds me of it, but it's even better because it deals with Hollywood. Check it out. Sorry "CSI:Miami", but you've been replaced . . .

New Monopoly gamepieces
Monopoly has a new current addition out with "Here & Now" properties and new gamepieces. Most notably, a labradoodle. My mom and MJ must be very happy. Click on the picture to see more. There was also a Starbucks cup on the website.Category: Random Links
Damn you Justin Timberlake
I haven't bought/received a new CD in like a year and a half by subsiding soley on iTunes. Then comes along JT with his new CD out today and darn it, if I don't like it and want to go out immediately and buy it. Doesn't he understand that Pepper needs flea medication more than I need his CD?On a related note, I really like that places like AOL have started streaming new albums on the web. It makes it a lot easier for me to realize that I really don't want Jessica Simpson's new CD . . .

Ironic spellcheck
Look at the spellcheck I got when I was just posting to my blog on blogger.com. Ebay is in the dictionary, but blog is not - on a site totally dedicated to blogs . . .Category: Thoughts
match.com fun
So I received the first blog worthy email from a guy at match.com, check it out ---
First off, this is clearly a cut and paste email he sends to everyone. There is no mention of anything from my profile.
Second, he sounds like he works for the Raleigh Tourism board.
Third, what straight man goes to the symphony, drinks wine, and has a blast? The wine must have been Franzia and the symphony must have been playing "Star Wars"
Oh, I'd forgotten how fun this online dating thing can be . . .

Subject: Pirouettes and pas de deux
I am looking for a date to go see Carmen in two weeks on opening weekend. You seem like the kind of woman who might like to dress up and go see the ballet. If not we seem like we may have many other things we might enjoy together like a glass of wine on my patio or a weekend trip for peace and quiet or an energetic event. I have just moved back to Raleigh and am looking to get reacquainted, or in our case acquainted in the first place. There are so many new places to see like north hills and the Fayetteville street rehab or old favorites like Glenwood south and Franklin street, plus all the nooks and crannies in-between. Last weekend I went to the free show at regency and drank wine while the symphony played and fireworks shot off. We had a blast. Wish you could have been there. Tell me what you think about the 16th though. Ciao

There are a lot of songs with "Sexy" in the title
Justin Timberlake's new album is streaming on mtv.com. This is the first time I've been to mtv.com in like 5 years. You also need to use IE and not Firefox, showing how dumb MTV really is.Category: Random Links
They're back!!!!
The Steelers kick off the season tonight. The good news is they're back, the bad news is Big Ben is not.A lot of the experts are picking Miami, but if the Steelers really are that dependent on Big Ben, are they really that strong of a team? Guess we'll find out!
8 pm, NBC tonight, be there or be square.

I'm doing it again!
I've decided to go back to online dating since I'm too embarrassed to go back to speed dating another time. I'm really not looking for anyone to date seriously, but rather work on my dating skills (since they are very, very lacking) and get free meals. Don't worry loyal Heather stalkers, I'll be sure to post about the winners who contact me.

Kickoff's almost here!
While I'll probably be skipping tonight's game against the Panthers since none of the starters are playing, a week from now I'll be gearing up for the official start of the season and the end of my getting anything done on Sundays!Category: Steelers

Birthday craziness
Samir and I celebrated our birthdays Saturday night by pre-partying at his place and then hitting up Franklin St. in Chapel Hill. I curled my hair, smeared on the black eyeliner, and put the twins on display and I was ready to party like a college student. In about an hour and a half at Samir's, I had several jello shots and a couple red bull and vodkas and I was good to go (oh and I had one real shot too, ouch). It's actually surprising I didn't throw up right then. The ice cream cake must have saved me (thanks Suzanne!).
I have a vague recollection of Kevin driving us to Chapel Hill and drunkenly showing people where Linda's was. I have an even vaguer recollection of being at Linda's, although I do remember Matt getting me water and reading all of the writings on the bathroom wall.
After I started bugging people to move on, we went to The Library and danced for a couple of hours. There we ran into a guy in a red shirt who I believe started hitting on Kristi until he realized she was taken and then moved onto me and/or Matt (there was some debate about his orientation). I gave him my number and had to tell him my name before we left to walk back to the car, only realizing then that no one knew if his name was Jonathan or Donovan. I did find out he was a Panthers' fan though.
At this point, I remember undoing the straps on my shoes and noticing that one of the straps had fallen off, so I went running back up Franklin St with no shoes on to look for the strap. The good news was I found the strap and didn't cut myself. I sure the cops I ran by enjoyed the show.
Eventually I got home at like 3 AM to a very happy Pepper and passed out until 6, at which point I woke up and threw up what remained of the jello shots. I fell asleep for a couple more hours and then ate some food - big mistake. An hour later, I was throwing up again. After that, I resigned myself to bed for the rest of the day. At 6 PM, I could finally down some of Lexington's finest BBQ. However when I took a shower last night, the smell of my hair made me nauseous all over again.
So in summary, I had an adventure and hopefully didn't do too many embarrassing things . Oh and when Jonathan did call last night, he left the worst voicemail message ever. Think gay valley girl. Damn those jello shot goggles.
P.S. I'll post a link to my pictures once I can look at them without getting sick.
Updates
Matt filled me in on what I else did Saturday night- I kept telling everyone how much I loved them, especially Matt
- I kept saying how much I missed Eleni and Mike
- The Kristies, Matt, and I had a very enthusiastic discussion about gay marriage on the way to Chapel Hill
- Rum has a lower proof than vodka
- Samir has shot glasses in his freezer

Applying The Hoff in the workplace
So I've been sitting in meetings for the past day and a half (I didn't get home till 8pm last night, poor Pepper) and absolutely dying. Then all of the sudden the Asian developer from Toronto visiting down here blows my mind by referencing "America's Got Talent" as an example for our software product. Actually, she called it "Americans Got Talents." Still, there was a simile involving The Hoff indirectly.

The Best of The Hoff
Check out this site that has the 50 best internet David Hasselhoff videos. Sadly enough, the video for "Hooked a Feeling" with the dachshunds did not make the list :-(Although from the picture on the left, he apparently loves all breeds. I feel dirty after looking at it

Build-A-Bear
Eleni, Matt, and I were discussing Build-A-Bear today at lunch and how girls want guys to give them to them. Even girls who normally would never have a single stuffed animal in their houses (except dog toys) want them. Eleni is lucky and got one from Mike. I've never gotten one sadly enough. The idea is that girls love the idea of a guy going out to the store and putting thought into building a bear just for them. Plus those bears are cute . . .
